SwiftSCPPrivacy Policy
Short version
SwiftSCP does not collect any data. We have no access to your files, servers, passwords or settings. Everything you set up stays on your Mac, and your files go straight between your Mac and the servers you choose.
What SwiftSCP stores, and where
- Sites. Host names, ports, user names, folders and notes are stored in the app's own folder on your Mac.
- Passwords. Saved passwords are stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac.
- Trusted servers. The server keys and certificates you accept are stored in the app's own folder on your Mac.
- Folder permissions. Folders and key files you allow SwiftSCP to use are remembered with macOS security bookmarks on your Mac.
- Settings. Your preferences are stored on your Mac.
- Session Log. The log of a connection is kept in memory while the window is open. It is not saved or sent anywhere. Passwords are never written to it.
None of this is sent to us. We don't run any server that SwiftSCP talks to.
What we don't do
- No analytics or usage statistics
- No crash reporting services
- No advertising
- No tracking across apps or websites
- No account or sign-up
Your servers
SwiftSCP connects only to the servers you enter. What those servers do with your files and connection details is covered by their own policies. If you use a hosting provider or a cloud storage service such as Amazon S3, please read their privacy policy.
Purchases
SwiftSCP is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple handles the purchase. We don't receive your payment details.
Children's privacy
SwiftSCP is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated.
